Mbire Abattoir (Private) Limited (Reg: 65413A02102025) was incorporated in Zimbabwe in 2025 with the purpose of establishing and operating a modern, cold‑chain enabled livestock processing facility in Mbire District, Mashonaland Central Province. The Company is majority woman‑owned, reflecting its commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment.

The district and its surroundings are home to approximately 140,000 cattle and 218,000 goats, yet currently lacks a registered abattoir.

Currently, farmers  trek more than 100 kilometres to Mt Darwin or sell their livestock to middlemen at discounted prices, resulting in significant erosion of value. Most farmers travel to Harare, over 250km incurring heavy transport fees, leading to loss of value. By situating the abattoir at Mahuwe Rural Service Centre, we will provide a centralised, regulated, and efficient processing hub. This will reduce logistical burdens, minimise spoilage through cold‑chain infrastructure, and unlock value for both farmers and investors.
